The Institute of Industrial Relations was established at the University of British Columbia in 1960 to facilitate an interdisciplinary program of research and education at the University and in the community. Although it supported studies of industrial relations at the graduate and faculty levels, the Institute was not a teaching faculty, nor did it grant special degrees or diplomas.
